Ceremony Program Basics
We have literally produced hundreds of program layouts for clients over the years. We have developed a style that we, and past clients, think produces a wonderful end product. There is no set-in-stone formula, as each program is different from the next, but there are basically 7 parts to our style of ceremony programs.

Front Cover - It can have a monogram or a photo of the couple or church graphic. As a background for a vellum jacket, it can have a poem, or just be blank. We can also print the vellum designs directly onto the card stock cover.

Title Page - This page communicates who, where, and when the wedding is taking place. It is the front cover for bifold style programs. In a book style it works best as page 3.

Wedding Ceremony - This section communicates the order of service from Prelude to Recessional.

Wedding Party - The wedding party consists of the officiant, parents, grandparents, attendants, participants in the ceremony such a readers or presenters, flower girls, ring bearers, ushers, and the musicians are included too. The House Party or special helpers are not part of the wedding party. Space permitting, they can be added. We strongly advise against listing your various wedding professionals, for example wedding coordinators. The only wedding professionals that should be listed are the musicians who actually perform at the ceremony. While I am sure they would love for you to advertise for them, your ceremony program is not the place to do it. Give them a glowing word-of-mouth recommendation for all of their hard work instead.

Message From the Couple - optional This is the section where you get to say all your thank yous to God, to family, and to friends.

At Home - optional This allows you to share not only where you are going live as a couple but also whether the bride is keeping her maiden name, taking the groom's name, or hyphenating her last name. We strongly recommend it because it gives the guest another reason to save the program instead of leaving it on the pew.

In Loving Memory - optional Most of us have loved ones who have died that we dearly miss. This is an opportunity to acknowledge that you are thinking of them and you know that they are with you on your special day.

Special Program Issues
We have seen some clients get carried away with what they want to communicate in their programs. Here is a short list of some parts that may have to be cut due to available space.

  • Lyrics to the songs and hymns of the service
  • Poems
  • Relationships of the wedding party members to the couple
  • Explanations of traditions or customs

We are not saying that you absolutely cannot have these things. We are saying don't get atttached to them if you are firm in the size and font you want for the program. It may not be possible to have everything you want in the program. We are very good at layouts but we cannot work miracles. Together we can find the balance.

Limits to Our Abilities
We are to NOT able to do embossing, foiling, or print on rough, textured, or glossy papers.

Missalettes
We DO NOT print missalettes. They are the type of ceremony program that lists word for word what was said during the ceremony by each person.

Submission of Graphics and Photos
If you would like to use your own artwork or photos on your programs they must submitted to us either as originals that can be scanned, or in a 300 dpi resolution or higher. TIF or EPS format. We cannot work from 72 dpi web graphics or faxed artwork. Please note the use of the artwork on the program is at our discretion.

Translations in Other Languages
We only offer programs in English.
