When talking about seating assignment for the reception it is first important to make sure you have a plan for the logistics of getting the guests to where they need to be. Are you assigning them to a particular table and then letting them sit in any seat at that table, or are you assigning them to a specific seat at the table?

If you are just assigning them to a table you can achieve it with one set of place cards. A tented card, on the front will have their names printed, and underneath it will have you are seated at Table_______ for you to write in the table assignments. I suggest putting off the actual assignments for as long as possible since late RSVPs and cancellations coming in may throw a kink into your plans.

If you want to assign the guest to a specfic seat you can do so by having a card at the entrance that will get them to the table. Then at the table you can have another place card or personalized menu that will show them their assigned seat.

The place cards can be a tented card or a flat card to go in a holder or frame. You will find more information about personalized menus on the menu page.

Place cards are available in either white or ecru paper. It is important to note that I do not print on place cards that are already cut down to size. These are the kind that you or order from a stationer or buy in a package in stores. Those cards are too small to print on. The cards I make are printed on larger sheets of card stock and then cut down to size after printing.
